Las ciudades con mayor proporción de población que siente inseguridad fueron Fresnillo, Ecatepec de Morelos, Coatzacoalcos, Cancún, Cuernavaca, y San Luis Potosí, de acuerdo con la Encuesta Nacional de Seguridad Pública Urbana realizada por el Instituto Nacional de Estadística y Geografía (INEGI).
Señala que un 88.9% de personas de 18 años en el municipio de Coatzacoalcos, Veracruz, consideraron que vivir en su ciudad es inseguro.
